Rev. D. Sokunt Wat was ordianed as a novice 'Samanera' in 1994 under the chairman of his beloved preceptor, Rev. Put Neit, former abbot of Memot monastery, K-cham province. In 1995, he obtained full ordination as a 'Bhikkhu or monk'.
He began to learn Pali from the beginning of his ordination with many teachers. Twelve years later, he got scholarship for Buddhist studies from ITBM University, Rangoon, Myanmar. He took three years to complete his studies there then back to Cambodia and Australia for few months.
After traveling, he went to Colombo, Sri Lanka for his further studies. He attended in Kelaniya university for his master degree of Buddhist psychology and psychotherapy. Today he is working as a monk team leader and school manager at SCC, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
